COVID Update

An update in relation to the COVID Traffic Light System implementation
on Friday 3rd December 2021

Thank-you everyone for your understanding & cooperation to date as we all work through the changing rules in these difficult times.

We now have some clarification from the Government and the New Zealand Veterinary Association around what we must do as a veterinary clinic, to enable us to stay open.

We ask that you treat our staff with respect as we are all in this tricky situation together and are trying our best to work through it as you are.

At YourVet, our biggest priority is being able to operate so we can continue to look after your animals, and the only way we can do this is to implement the government restrictions as follows.

NZ Government requirements (RED / ORANGE / GREEN)

To come into reception:

  • You must wear a mask unless you have an exemption.

To come into a consult room:

  • If you are unable to wear a mask, we will have a nurse to hold your pet while you wait in reception, the vet or nurse will discuss your pet with you prior to and following the appointment.
  • Farm and Equine appointments (outdoors):

    • Wearing a mask is optional. If you would like our vets to wear a mask, please advise when booking the appointment.

If you have any questions please feel free to email

And finally, to all of our lovely clients & patients who make these confusing times so much more manageable,
a huge THANK-YOU from all of us at YourVet
